Size Guide

How we measure vintage clothing and how to find your fit.

Why measurements matter

Sizing has changed a lot over the decades — a 1970s Medium can fit like a modern Small. Every item is measured flat, so compare our numbers to a garment you already own.

How we measure

Pit to pit: straight across the chest, armpit to armpit. Double it for the full chest.

Length: from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem.

Waist: straight across the waistband, laid flat. Double for full waist.

Inseam: from the crotch seam to the hem. Rise: from the crotch seam to the top of the waistband.

Footwear

Footwear is listed in UK sizes (UK 7 ≈ EU 40–41). We note if a pair runs large or small from the insole measurement.
